NUMbrella Lane is a safe, collective space located in central Glasgow that seeks to create opportunities to strengthen mental health, wellbeing and community support for sex workers.  We promote a friendly environment where all sex workers are welcome.

At NUMbrella Lane, we host regular drop ins to exchange knowledge and wisdom, alongside activities within and outside of these sessions. More than that, our space is intended to create a unity between sex workers where they interact and support each other. We are able to help with referrals to specialist services, as well as support from the NUM Casework Team. We can also supply you with free safe sex supplies, a swap meet, a food bank and snacks!

Location: For the safety and security of our members, our location is only available for those who are members of NUM. If you are a sex worker and would like to register as a NUM member, please do so here!

As well as our drop-ins on Tuesdays and Thursdays, members also attend events and outdoor activities. In 2022, we  enjoyed a barbeque on the beach, and a trip to an alpaca farm. Thur 14th May – body doubling tax session
Get a head start on your tax return with a chilled supportive session

Tue 19th May – clay modelling
Sculpting with airdry clay. Clay and tools provided. Take your creations home or leave at drop in to come back and paint it another day.

Thu 21st May – regular drop in
– Cuppas, snacks and chats
– Foodbank, safe sex supplies, library, SW clothes free shop

Tue 26th May – basic handsewing repairs
– need to sew on a button or repair a tear? Bring along something that needs repaired and learn how, or body double/help others if you are already an expert. Sewing essentials provided.

Thu 28th May – regular drop in
– cuppa, snacks and chats
– Foodbank, safe sex supplies, library, SW clothes free shop

We are pleased to share the report from our needs assessment from sex workers in Scotland, which will be used to help develop NUMbrella Lane’s services. We would like to thank everyone who shared their experiences and ideas with us during this research!

In 2023 members cultural highlights included screenings at the Glasgow Short Film Festival and The Glasgow Cuban Film Festival along with shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and Sonica Festival. Weekly crafting sessions have continued into 2024 along with monthly cinema screenings.
