SWAI archive now hosted on NUM website – Celebrating the Sex Workers’ Alliance Ireland

In the same week as Sx Worker Pride (14th Sept), National Ugly Mugs proudly hosts the Sex Workers’ Alliance (SWAI) archive on our website, celebrating their 16 years of activism.
We are deeply honoured to be able to preserve their legacy of peer-led support and advocacy for the sx work community. The service closed at the end of 2025 due to lack of funding, though their tireless work for the rights, safety and autonomy of sx workers will not be forgotten.
The webpage features SWAI’s research, media, resources, and other evidence of their work. The Alliance provided valuable information for workers in Ireland including support for survivors of violence, and details of national laws, rights, immigration, housing, employment, and more. All are still publicly available in the archive.
