cw: murder
We are pleased to hear that Mark Brown, accused of murdering Alexandra Morgan and Leah Ware, has today been found guilty at Hove Crown Court.
Both Morgan and Ware went missing in 2021, after Brown had contacted them through an escorting website.
More information about the case and the trial can be found here. Please note that the article contains some distressing descriptions.
Libby Clark from the Crown Prosecution Service said: “This is a tragic case where two women – Alex Morgan and Leah Ware – were murdered and treated with utter disregard and cruelty at the hands of Mark Brown…We are pleased the jury saw through his lies and convicted him today, closing this complex and challenging case…Violence against women and girls has no place in our society.”
It is vital that those who harm sex workers are brought to justice, and that violence against sex workers is taken seriously. Sex workers must not be seen as disposable, but as full, included, equal members of our society with the same rights and same humanity.
We hope that this verdict brings some peace to Leah and Alexandra’s family and friends. May they both rest in power.
