NUM eLearning

Welcome to National Ugly Mugs’ eLearning!

NUM has been providing community education since 2013 – at first in person, then online during the pandemic. We have now moved to an eLearning model, providing increased accessibility, flexibility and up-to-date knowledge on sex worker safety, rights and priorities.

About our eLearning

Our eLearning is drawn from our wealth of experience working with, supporting and advocating for sex workers who have experienced harm. It is informed by research projects done mainly by sex workers, NUM’s statistics, and case studies that are based on sex workers’ lived experiences of harm. Our position of trust within the sex worker community and partnerships with sex worker-led groups provide valuable insights into sex workers’ experiences of violence, stigma, justice and support.

Our eLearning is designed by, with, and for the benefit of, sex workers and stakeholders, so that those who work with them are able to do so in ways which minimise harm, improve support, reduce stigma and increase justice. Some courses are designed for all audiences, while others will be created specifically for particular sectors, such as policing, support services or healthcare.

Costs

Some courses are available by donation, while others include a fee. This ensures that we can continue to work with sex workers to develop high quality and informative eLearning which informs practice and improves the conditions which sex workers face, centralising their experiences and acknowledging their expertise. Your donations will allow us to continue developing our eLearning and to support sex workers as contributors, as well as provide our vital support services. Sex worker-led groups can access courses for free.

More modules will be added in due course. Keep an eye on our website and social media to see when!
