Now in the ninth year, the Frontline Network Annual Conference brings together frontline practitioners, experts by experience, sector leaders and academics from all four nations of the UK for a day of learning, solidarity and inspiration.

Drawing from the National Ugly Mugs’ Racial Justice Project and Basis Yorkshire’s frontline experience, the session will explore how the homelessness sector and frontline workers engage with criminalised and heavily stigmatised communities, including sex workers, racialised and migrant communities, and people who use substances.

This session explores the impact of stigma and re-traumatisation within systems. Attendees will leave with practical considerations towards more inclusive and accessible service provision for those affected by social exclusion.

Themes will include:
  • Trust-building and disclosure
  • Recognising hidden needs
  • Harm reduction principles
  • Reducing non-othering practices
  • Problematising ‘conditional access barriers’ “exit sex work first”, “stop using substances first”

Hear from Racial Justice Project Coordinator, Mutsa Mhende, and SWISVA Learning & Policy Influencing Lead at Basis Yorkshire, Rosie Hodsdon. Click the link above to book your place.
