General

The Site Terms apply exclusively to your access to and use of the Site nationaluglymugs.org and form a binding agreement between you and National Ugly Mugs (NUM), formerly UK Network of Sex Work Projects (UKNSWP). You also agree to be bound by any additional terms that may be posted regarding individual sections of the NUM Site. 

By using the NUM Site, you agree that (a) all information you submit is truthful and accurate; (b) you will not submit a report to NUM if you are under 18 years old; and (c) your use of the NUM Site does not violate any applicable law or regulation.

NUM reserves the right to modify any Site Terms or any policy relating to the NUM Site, at any time and in its sole discretion. Modifications will be effective immediately upon posting on the NUM Site. Your continued use of the NUM Site after the posting of modifications to the Site Terms will constitute your acceptance of such revisions. You should review the NUM Site Terms and applicable policies from time to time to understand the terms and conditions that govern your use of the NUM Site.

The following terms and conditions must be agreed upon to become a member of National Ugly Mugs.

Individual Membership – Sex Workers 

1. In order for information submitted to NUM to be processed into alerts and be of the most help in preventing harm to sex workers, we request that you provide reports in a timely fashion. 
2. All information shared with members through alerts should be treated as sensitive and confidential and not shared through other networks. This will prevent alerts and warnings from getting into the hands of offenders who could harm sex workers.  
3. Individual membership is for personal use only and while individual members can make third party reports on behalf of friends and the community, log in details must not be shared. 

The NUM casework team are available to support sex workers Tuesday to Friday between 10am and 4pm 

Organisation Membership – Practitioners

1. Prior to being confirmed as members, practitioners who register with NUM representing an organisation may be asked for more information about their services to sex workers.
2. Organisation members will endeavour to attend National Ugly Mugs Practitioner Education sessions, when available, and keep staff members up-to-date on NUM’s reporting and alerting process, as well as support services and signposting, as part of the community of organisations that work to increase safety for sex workers. 
3. Organisation members must be mindful of keeping login details to the NUM site secure. It is the responsibility of organisations to ensure that staff members are using the NUM site responsibly and are complying with the terms and conditions of membership. 
4. Practitioners who wish to become members must provide a link to their organisation’s official website and profile page where possible, and must register with an official organisation email address.
5. When submitting third party reports, practitioners must explain to sex workers the importance of their consent to submit information to NUM. Reports that do not indicate that consent has been given cannot be processed.

All Members

We take false membership applications and malicious reporting very seriously. Individuals found to be misusing NUM’s platform or breaching its security, will have their membership revoked and in the event that these activities contribute to a crime, their details will be passed on to the police. 

NUM reserves the right to grant, suspend and delete memberships when necessary to protect the safety of sex workers and the integrity our databases and platform.
