National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is seeking a person with experience in sex work in the UK to lead a research project on transitioning and exiting supports, and what sex workers need when they are contemplating moving out of adult industries.
This role will design and conduct research to gather data from NUM members and other sex workers within the UK to understand what services currently exist to support transition, and what resources sex workers require to leave sex work on their own terms or blend it with other sources of income.
- £2,750 research contract for an estimated 165 hours between October 2021 and January 2022
- Reporting to the Research and Education Development (RED) Coordinator
About you
We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- Demonstrable experience in and understanding of sex work, sex worker rights and self-determination
- A commitment to NUM’s core values of compassion, contribution, integrity and inclusion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working independently and leading projects
- Formal research experience in the humanities or social sciences is desirable, but not required for the role
- Legally permitted to work in the UK
