Bristol City Council opens submissions on Sexual Entertainment Venues consultation

Bristol City Council opens submissions on Sexual Entertainment Venues consultation
30 September 2021

Bristol City Council have now launched their consultation on the licensing of sexual entertainment venues (SEVs).

The council are gathering evidence as to whether to remove the licences granted to SEVs – most usually strip clubs – in the city centre. A decision to do so will not only force around 100 workers out of their current jobs, but push them to work in less visible, unregulated spaces, placing them in even more danger.  As such, NUM are strongly opposed to these proposals, and support the campaign of the Bristol Sex Workers Collective against them.

The consultation can be completed by Bristol residents, and closes on 19th December 2021.
