Young Carers Action Day 2026

Wednesday 11th March is Young Carers Action Day, and NUM supports the call to action. We see that young carers are too often excluded from vital conversations and we call for recognition and resources to better support them.

Nearly half of our members are within the 18 – 30 year old age bracket, and many of those reported having caring responsibilities. This impacts many intersections within our society, including sex workers. In our ‘Leaving the Game’ research, several sex workers emphasise that caring responsibilities is key motivation for starting sex work, and a barrier to mainstream employment (2024).

Stand with us in demanding greater recognition for young carers and the same opportunities to thrive as other young people.
